Honor Guard Volunteer Opportunities

  

  • Are you a member of The American Legion? If not, please join.
  • Are you looking to volunteer a few hours weekly with something very fulfilling      and meaningful in honoring our deceased veterans?
  • Did you know that nationally, the average age of an Honor Guard member is 73 So, don’t think for a moment that you are too young or too old!
  • The American Legion Honor Guard is very active. Services are between 9am to      4pm, Mon through Sat. No Sundays. 
  • Uniforms are provided upon satisfactory attendance.
  • Funeral and events are generally between Gate City to Johnson City. 
  • Transportation is provided with pickup at three convenient locations! 
  • We fire three volleys of rifle fire (blanks), sound Taps, fold and present the American Flag.
